Johny Morris - Voyage to the cloud

JOhny morris

Johny is the author of the Practical Data Migration methodology and a recognised thought leader in this space with over 25 years’ experience in data migration project delivery. He has Project managed, and successfully delivered, data migrations across most industry verticals – insurance, banking, utilities, not for profit, media, government, healthcare, manufacturing etc.

He has worked on all scales of project up to thousands of direct users and hundreds of legacy systems.

He is the author of numerous white papers and a sort after public speaker at conferences and in webinars. His mission is to de-risk migrations to the point where we can all enjoy on-time, on budget, zero defect migrations.

He has 10 years experience of migrating enterprise applications to the cloud both to Software as a Service (SaaS) and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) platforms

He will be reviewing how much the data landscape has changed between the pre and post covid years, with the gathering pace of the Digital Transformation and the impact this has on Data Translation from source to target.

Richard Adams - Cloud Transformation Architecture

Richard is currently Principal Digital Architect at London North East Railway (LNER) who are undergoing a multiyear digital transformation.

It's fair to say that Richard he isn't your usual architect. He has worked in cutting edge tech and transformation since the turn of the 90’s, usually through the lens of applied creativity and art/media. He has had different roles at the BBC, Sky, the RSC, Microsoft Studios, Aviva and many more but all based around creativity and tech. He has worked extensively in interactive TV and games, marketing and more, slowly going deeper into the tech stack, where he is now implementing cloud transformations, machine learning platforms, event driven serverless services and much more.

Daniel Allen - Demystifying Migrations

For most of us Enterprise Application Migration is a once in a business lifetime activity.  We are all beginners.  Where to start?  Daniel has made it his mission to demystify the process.  To make getting your project up and running quickly and efficiently while upskilling you and your co-workers, colleagues in the wider business, suppliers, customers, and anyone else who is impacted, with the skills needed. He is also aware of the need for continuing support as people rotate in and out of the project.

Daniel certainly has the background to provide this advice, with 20 years in IT and the last 10 focussed on Data Migration. In that time he was worked in lead roles for the likes of Barratt Developments, the Comma Group, the Solicitors Regulation Authority and Oxford University.

As well as leadership roles, Daniel is still a hands on software engineer so ideally placed to advise on both technical and softer skills.

Further speakers will be added over the next few weeks. Add you details to the watch list to be kept informed

I found it very useful, both the talks and the software demo
